William S. Hawkes is Of Counsel to Keegan Werlin LLP.  Mr. Hawkes practices in the areas of business and real estate law.  He advises clients starting businesses and serves as outside general counsel to a wide variety of established businesses, providing advice on a broad range of issues faced by business owners.  In addition to serving as a counselor to his clients, Mr. Hawkes represents them in connection with acquisitions and sales, debt and equity financings, strategic alliances, and contract negotiation and drafting.  Mr. Hawkes also provides a full scope of real estate services to developers, businesses, and other owners of real estate, including land assemblage and acquisition, project permitting and development, lease drafting and negotiation, closing of conventional and tax exempt financing, resolutions of title issues, and acquisition and sale of developed properties.  He also negotiates leases for his business clients.

Before joining the firm in 2005, he practiced for nearly thirty years at Mahoney, Hawkes & Goldings, LLP, before becoming general counsel and chief operating officer of a registered investment advisory company in September 2000.  Prior to receiving his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law, Mr. Hawkes completed his Batchelor of Arts degree with honors from Brown University.

Mr. Hawkes is admitted to practice before the bar of Massachusetts.
